Synopsis

After a motorcycle accident, Andrew Sarkus is paraplegic and lives alone in a penthouse overlooking the sea—an apartment he purchased with the insurance payout and compensation from the hit-and-run driver who struck him. Three months in a coma, more than three years in hospital, and six months in a rehabilitation home. Andrew has been back in his apartment for one year.

He is broken—physically and mentally. He no longer goes out. His only reasons to live are his computers, coding smartphone apps, and his activities as a hacker.

A gifted computer scientist, he began his career at 18 in California’s Silicon Valley, at Symantec. He was later spotted by a headhunter and recruited as a programmer for the Thalys Group in Cannes, in the south of France.

A wounded hermit’s life—until the day he uses his new spyware program, “Chameleon,” to hack an NSA server and uncovers an experimental protocol called “Limitless”—focused on twin universes and the opening of dimensions similar to ours, with the possibility of interfering with them.

From that moment on, he will do everything in his power to find his dimensional double, hoping that this other self is not disabled…

He becomes Vertical Man, the most wanted hacker on the planet. His quest for the absolute drives him toward an impossible goal: to merge with the body of his dimensional counterpart, living in a world similar to Earth—IPSOS.
