Synopsis
On a private beach along the Corniche d’Or, at a place known as Le Trayas, Kate Moore, the owner of the property and the widow of an American industrialist specialized in the arms industry, discovers the body of a man lying motionless—naked, amnesiac, with a tattoo on his back symbolizing time passing along the axis of the world. The man is still breathing.
Around his neck hangs an engraved steel collar, bearing the only information he carries:
“Chrone of the City of Syn, son of Carl Jung and Ananké, father of the first three numbers…”
And so the story of Chrone of the City of Syn begins—on a beach in the south of France.
Questions multiply in the face of Chrone’s amnesia and mysterious origin, and no natural explanation seems to match his sudden appearance. His physical and physiological readings align with recorded averages. Only his cognitive abilities are unusually elevated.
Professor Norman Drake, an eminent psychiatrist, Head of Psychiatry at Saint Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, and founder of the Center for Psychiatric Ontogeny, takes charge of the investigation to answer these questions. To do so, he opens a center in Nice specifically designed to accommodate Chrone’s cerebral faculties: the “Chronospace,” funded by private money. Chrone is granted freedom of movement in exchange for an expert study of his brain. With authorization from the French government, the professor establishes his clinical and medical unit, supported by a team of European and American scientists.
In principle, effects are tied to causes. Yet this man—endowed with singular abilities—goes far beyond cause, far beyond the simple echo of our lives. He possesses an aptitude that allows him to master probabilities, to choose the most favorable paths as they intersect. An enigmatic presence on an Earth edging toward chaos, in a world suffocating under corruption, violence, and hate—where xenophobia and barbarism are fueled by religious radicalization and human madness.
Could Chrone be the new messenger sent to free this planet from its downfall?
Some are certain. Others hope. Many, however, see only a media manipulation designed to mask the political decay of governments—nourished by conspiracy theories. An extraordinary being for a final apocalypse that will leave no side untouched…
It will fall to Chrone to nourish human consciousness through his innate gifts—to open the gates of synchronicity and a cascade of luminous signs, in the hope of a new world order.
