A new mission in the heart of Russia for Lucio Borghèse and his Virtues.
After The Stranger in France, Shanghai Amazons in China, and Horizon of Mind in the United States, the mercenary group finds itself in Russia—led by Colonel Nina Viktorovna Gorlanova and Anouska Astankov—for a particularly delicate assignment bearing the deceptively gentle name Devouchka (“Young Lady”). The mission: to recover part of the documents tied to the esoteric history of Nazi Germany—the Ahnenerbe* (“Ancestral Heritage”)—now held by a mysterious Russian secret society and protected by the Bratva, the Red Mafia.
Igor Filippov and Dimitri Podkletnov, two archaeologists and members of the organization known as the Circle of the Heirs of the Ankha—to which Lucio Borghèse and the Virtues also belong—contact the Organization after making a discovery in a cave in the Caucasus: a strange briefcase containing ultra-classified documents dated 1941, signed by SS leader Heinrich Himmler and by the undisputed master of the USSR, Joseph Stalin. These documents provide proof of the existence of an Ahnenerbe institute in Moscow, operating under the cover of an occult entity called Венера (Venera / “Venus”), led by a certain Svetlana Blavatsky—who guards, in silence, a secret capable of compromising the very organization of the Heirs of the Ankha.
An adventure in a Russia undergoing rapid change, ruled with an iron hand by the charismatic President Aleksei Boukharine. Between mafia networks and secret societies, the Virtues will face the lingering occult and shadow forces of the Nazi Black Sun, as well as Russia’s security services—the FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation)—who want to seize this esoteric treasure assembled by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. A race against time to save the legacy of the Ancients, lost for decades, and return it—at all costs—to the shelves of the Ankha’s Hermetic Library.
* Ahnenerbe — translated as “Ancestral Heritage” (more precisely Ahnenerbe Forschungs und Lehrgemeinschaft, i.e., “Society for Research and Teaching on Ancestral Heritage”) — was a Nazi multidisciplinary research institute created by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, Herman Wirth, and Walther Darré on July 1, 1935. Incorporated into the SS in January 1939, the Ahnenerbe was headquartered in Munich—and perhaps elsewhere…
