Synopsis

​

13,000 years before our era, the Great Land of Un—commonly known as Atlantis—is suddenly struck by a first ray from Baal, then a second deadly beam, and finally a third radiation. This last blast sows chaos and desolation across a civilization blessed by the Ancients. The catastrophe wipes out almost all of humankind.

​

Baal’s power gradually unleashes an irreversible process of reincarnation, imprisoning humanity in the matter of its own feelings under the watch of the great Black Dragon, Omega, who draws his strength from the Golden Fleece… Certain traditions call this major event the original fall, the one that cast Adam out of Paradise and reduced him to mere mortality. The flood erased the traces of this civilization and spilled over the Earth the first legends and mythologies—told at first by the survivors of the great shipwreck, and later by the heirs of the high priests of the Great Land of Un… Some even say that certain Ancients entered the lair of the Black Dragon to teach the virtues of knowledge and wisdom…

2020, in our third millennium. Jason Lee—eminent professor and holder of the Chair of Quantum Physics at the Collège de France since 2008; member of the Academy of Sciences, the European Academy of Sciences, and associate member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences; appointed Administrator of the Collège de France in September 2012—wins the 2013 Nobel Prize for his theory on quantum gates, intimately linking computing, physics, and mathematics, and for developing a prototype quantum cellular computer known as Project “Thessaly”—built from hybrid DNA structured with nano-cells and human cells taken from Jason’s daughter and wife.

Within this quantum space, each cell can be empty, full, or in a superposition of both states. Thessaly II will lead to an A.I. in the form of a next-generation female android, capable of performing delicate operations across multiple planes (material, virtual, and quantum)—a door opened toward precision surgery and other revolutionary applications. This discovery and physical design allow Jason to glimpse the path that could determine how quantum gates might be opened, and to hope for travel into spaces and dimensions unknown to humankind.

After the publication of his research, Jason is approached by the leadership of the CERN Large Hadron Collider in Geneva.

The Series

​

The series imagined and written by Serge Leterrier is inspired by legends, mythologies, and sacred scriptures that the peoples of Earth have written and interpreted for centuries. Enigmas and symbols are not set aside—quite the opposite. A numerological thread created specifically for the series—Harmoniology—will also run throughout, leading us into the mysteries of the Kabbalah, Gematria, and the occult sciences.

The seat of the story will also lie beyond the perimeter of our planet’s usual horizon… Incursions into the universal system will be among the guiding threads of the series, feeding—season after season—the intrigues and the solutions to the enigmas developed by the characters.

With Coverage, no border is impossible to cross: from macrocosm to microcosm, through nothingness and our primordial birth. All that is required is to step aboard the vessel called Earth—and allow yourself to be teleported into every region of the cosmos in order to answer that essential, singular, primordial question…
